Art or Vandalism (Writting activity)
In the
act of creating the art, an act of vandalism is done. This is part of the
artist's statement...they want to destroy or deface something with their art.
They want people to see this. They want to be seen and heard. They are flirting
with trouble and it adds energy to the work. I would say that it is positive if
it addresses injustice and challenges evil. Otherwise, it is just posing. If
they seek to make money off their art, it is posing, and it is vandalism, but
it is still art. Putting up resistance posters or anything one is forbidden to
do by a bad government is also vandalism, and art...and it is trying to change
the world for the better. Ask yourself if each artist is trying to make the
world a better place and why.
